Bring It On: Fight To The Finish

In less than ten years, 'Bring it On' has morphed from a legit cheerleading film, to the catalyst for some of the worst video releases to hit stores since 'Ghost Dad.' While some actresses have found the series to be a springboard to career success, that doesn't change the fact that the series should have been finished after two tries: the original, and the spoof found in 'Not Another Teen Movie.'
Dialogue is front and center, literally, with very few lines ever coming from odd angles, and the Academy Award nominated script is also tragically drowned out at times by the soundtrack, bringing all the fantastic luster to a mumble at times. The soundtrack has an odd mix, with a very soft bass level that still manages to overwhelm the treble. The film seems stuck in the midrange at all times, with no real low or high presence to be accounted for. I caught an instance or two of spoken word popping (in the negative manner), with weird emphasis breaking up words. Crowded scenes just sound direct-to-video, with some random atmosphere, but nothing to convince anyone they're listening to a crowded school hallway or competition. Best of all, the entire film feels like it was ADR'ed, with lines not matching up to lip movements or emphasis.
Universal needs to wake up and 'Bring it On' when it comes to their release strategy for the Blu-ray format. So few catalog titles have hit the format that weren't HD DVD ports, while direct-to-video-to-dumpster fare like 'Bring it On: Fight to the Finish' hits the format, without coinciding with the original film that spawned so many films akin to cancer outbreaks. With good video, subpar audio, and abysmal extras, it's hard to give this release anything but an execution order. 'Bring it On: Fight to the Finish' will make you want to fight for this film series to finish for good.
This fifth movie in the Bring It On series features some cool stars, like singer Christina Milian and new hottie Cody Longo who will be premiering in the remake of Fame this September! Plus their hot, new stunts and choreography will leave you wanting more! Now I don't want to give too much away, but when a new squad is formed to take down the All Star Cheer Champions, a squad of mean girls who will do anything to win, things get intense! Can you guys say, bring on the drama
When her mother falls for a wealthy man, Lina Cruz must move in with her new stepfather and transfer from an urban East Los Angeles public high school to an exclusive prep school in Malibu, where she struggles to fit in with her affluent new peers. After snooty cheerleading captain Avery blocks Lina from varsity, Lina recruits her best friends from her old school to help her whip the pathetic junior varsity cheerleading squad -- the Sea Lions -- into fighting shape. The movie Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, released in 2009, features 37 songs from artists like Down, Kottonmouth Kings, Mark McLaughin and Kat DeLuna featuring Elephant Man. What is your favorite song from Bring It On: Fight to the Finish
What was the attraction to being part of this franchise Christina Milian: I am a fan. I have all the DVDs, and I've watched the reruns over and over again on TV. It's not something that came out of nowhere. I wasn't thinking about doing this because it's the cool thing to do. Knowing that it's the fifth installment actually makes you a bit nervous. There are fans and people who are consistently buying 'Bring it On' movies. What also attracted me to this is that my fan base tends to be females and girls, and I would like to be a good representative who inspires them. With characters like Lina, she goes through an arc where a lot of people will try to bring her down, but she's confident in herself. There aren't a lot of films these days that sort of inspire that. I felt this film was positive. I have two younger sisters, and I've been their role model. I'm not perfect, and by doing a 'Bring it On' movie, I hope that it continues that legacy of upward mobility for young females.
What did you want to do with your character that fans hadn't seen in the other films CM: I wanted her to have spice. The other lead characters in the previous four films were square, but the things that they were doing were different from Lina, because my character was dealing with certain prejudice, and she's fighting that. I think she's feisty. She knows what she wants. If you find something that you have love for and have passion for, why not be your best at it
What's next CM: After this I have a new album coming out. It's been finished, but I just finished my deal with Interscope Records. Now, we are just trying to get the stars to align and get everyone on the same page as far as picking the right single. I would like to put out two singles at least. Nowadays, you have to inspire people to go out and buy an album.
Central Washington (42-15) advances to a best-of-three regional championship series at Humboldt State later this week, while Azusa Pacific finishes the season 40-12 overall after hosting the regional in its first-ever Division II postseason appearance.
That score held until the Cougars tied the game in a wild sixth inning. Jessica Melcher andAbry Moreno produced consecutive one-out singles, and back-to-back walks scored the first run of the inning to cut the lead to 6-4 with Sprague and senior catcher Madison Hernandezdue up. Sprague's fly out to shallow left wasn't able to bring a run home, but Moreno scored on a wild pitch to cut it to 6-5.
Central Washington responded again, taking advantage of a one-out infield hit and an error in the outfield to get two runners on base for senior catcher Austin Wilkerson, who delivered the game-winning RBI with a single to left. Brielle Copodonna added a two-run single down the right-field line to extend the lead to 9-6, and Wildcat reliever Kayla Smith retired Azusa Pacific in order in the seventh inning to finish off the win.
